Child Safeguarding

Safeguarding responsibilities extend to every employee, volunteer, contractor and visitor.
Child Protection Policy

Schools should maintain a zero-tolerance approach to bullying — the framework should address prevention, reporting, investigation, intervention, student support and parent engagement.
Health & Safety Management
Health and safety should be managed systematically rather than reactively — every department should contribute to maintaining a safe environment.
Fire & Life Safety
Fire protection systems should be inspected and maintained in accordance with applicable Civil Defence requirements and relevant building regulations.
Emergency Preparedness
Each scenario should have documented response procedures and clearly assigned responsibilities — preparedness that only exists on paper fails at the moment it's needed most.
School Health Services
Health services should operate in accordance with applicable UAE health regulations.
Physical Security
Security should create confidence without making the school feel restrictive — the goal is a campus that feels open and safe at once.
Digital Safety
Digital safety is now an essential part of student safeguarding, not a separate IT concern (see Chapter 21's technology infrastructure and Chapter 22's AI governance).
Risk Management
Every school should maintain a structured Risk Register. Each identified risk should include likelihood, impact, mitigation measures, a responsible owner and a review frequency.
